Illustration Friday: Stir
This is my interpretation of the prompt stir. I was thinking what I like to stir and I remembered my favorite thing is tomato/alphabet soup because you can arrange the letters to form words. I know I'm such a nerd but really who doesn't love playing with their food. Anyway, the bowl, soup, and spoon are color pencil and the background is water color. I wanted to try the shaving cream food coloring thing but haven't had the time, so maybe i'll use that later down the line.
PHOTOMONTAGE
This is a Photomontage of my family. The biggest thing that describes our family as a whole is travel so there are a bunch of famous monuments we've visited in the background. The people look so big against them because I wanted to emphasize how much the monuments mean to us without them dominating the picture. Also, at the bottom is my family. My dad has an overly large head because he is really intelligent and so does my mom, her's is bigger because she makes all the important family decisions and always has her nose in a book. Me and my brother's body's are larger than our heads because we are more athletic.

Ilustration Friday: SWARM
This is my attempt at a visual representation of a swarm. It's meant to be a swarm of birds but it looks more like a swarm of bats. The background is watercolor with silver spray paint clouds outlined in white pastel. The bird were done with an ink dropper I found in my handy dandy box given to me by Ms. Stone-Danahy. Enjoy!
SURREALISM SKETCHBOOK COVER!
This is my sketchbook cover done in the surrealist style. I did a citra-solve of a surrealist painting and made it my own using color pencils for color accents. Surrealism is my favorite style because it's just so out there and creative which make surrealist paintings fun to look at!

Illustration Friday: Sweater
So this is my visual representation of Sweater. My sweater is on a teddy bear that I named Delila... not sure why but it seemed to fit when i finished her. The colors on her sweater are royal purple and green, but when i took pictures it turned out kind of blue:( Anyway I drew her because i couldn't think of any thing else to draw. I was going to draw a dog in a sweater but since I hate when people actually do that I drew this instead.

Illustration Friday: Reverse
This is my interpretation of Reverse. This picture is of two cats that are in my mind the reverse of each other. The cat on the left is all black except for the whiskers, nose and eyes which are silvery white. The cat on the right is the reverse with black whiskers, nose and eyes. This also reminds me of the Yin Yang symbol for peace and harmony which was part of the inspiration for this illustration. Also, i'm not gonna lie I have about as much artistic ability as a rock and thought cats would be a fairly easy thing to attempt to draw.

Illustration Friday: Shadow
This is my attempt at a visual representation of a shadow. I though doing a normal shadow would be boring so thought of it in terms of seasons. Since shadows are our "dark sides" I figured I would take inspiration from the summer tree outside and instead of giving it a shadow I gave it it's "dark side" or winter look instead of a traditional black shadow. This drawing is also inspired by the poem Fire and Ice By: Robert Frost, not sure why but i love that poem and this picture reminds me of it. "Some say the world end in fire, some say in ice....." has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
